General terms and conditions / warranty

These warranty conditions apply to all our Zannata bicycles. The warranty provisions and the list of parts to which these provisions relate are stated below.

1 Warranty

‍ 1.1 VDB Parts NV guarantees that the Zannata bicycles are free from construction and material defects to the extent that this follows from these warranty provisions.

1.2 The warranty can only be invoked by the first owner of the relevant Zannata bicycle.

1.3 The warranty expires in accordance with the provisions in articles 3.1 and 5.1.

1.4 The warranty is not transferable.

‍ 2 Warranty Period

‍ 2.1 Zannata frames and forks are guaranteed against construction and material defects for a period of 2 years.

2.2 This warranty period also applies to all other parts of the bicycle, with the exception of parts subject to wear and tear, such as tires, chain, sprockets, freewheels, cassettes, cables, and brake pads; no warranty is given on these, unless there is a construction or material defect.

2.3 For the paintwork of the frame and fork, a 2-year warranty applies in the event of corrosion and/or chipping from the inside.

2.4 All electrical components have a warranty period of 2 years. However, these components must first be submitted to the respective manufacturer, Shimano. They will determine whether or not the relevant parts will be replaced under warranty.

2.5 The warranty period always commences on the day of purchase of the bicycle. A purchase invoice in the name of the firstowner serves as conclusive proof in this regard. This must always be available for presentation.

‍ 3 Warranty Exclusions

‍ 3.1 The warranty is void in the following cases:

a. Incorrect or careless use of the bicycle and use that is not in accordance with its intended purpose.
b. The bicycle has not been maintained in accordance with the specifications.
c. Technical repairs have not been performed professionally.
d. Subsequently fitted parts do not correspond to the technical specifications of the bicycle in question or have been incorrectly fitted.
e. If proof of ownership (purchase invoice or warranty card) showing that the bicycle was professionally assembled and inspected before being delivered to the customer is not present.

3.2 Furthermore, liability of VDB Parts NV for damage to the bicycle or specific parts resulting from the following is expressly excluded:

a. Incorrect adjustment or tension of handlebars, stem, saddle, seat post, derailleurs, brakes, wheel quick-releases, and saddles.
b. Failure to replace parts such as brake/derailleur cables, brake pads, tires, chain, and sprockets in a timely manner.
c. Climatic influences such as normal weathering of paint.
d. Improper or incorrect use of the bicycle, applications in competition, or commercial purposes.

4 Warranty Parts

4.1 During the warranty period, all parts determined by VDB Parts NV to have a material or manufacturing defect shall be repaired or replaced at the discretion of VDB Parts NV.

4.2 Costs of transport of the bicycle or parts to and from VDB Parts NV shall be borne by the owner, unless the part in question is eligible for warranty.

4.3 If a specific part is eligible for warranty and the original is no longer available, VDB Parts NV shall provide an equivalent alternative.

‍ 5 Submitting a claim

‍ 5.1 Warranty claims must be submitted for inspection to the Zannata dealer from whom the bicycle was purchased, together with a valid proof of purchase or warranty card.

5.2 If the owner has moved or the original Zannata dealer is no longer available, VDB Parts NV will (in consultation) refer the owner to the nearest Zannata dealer.

‍ 6 Liability

‍ 6.1 A warranty claim accepted by VDB Parts NV does not automatically mean that VDB Parts NV also accepts liability for any damage suffered.

‍ ‍ The liability of VDB Parts NV shall never extend beyond that described in these warranty conditions.
Any liability of VDB Parts NV for consequential damages is expressly excluded.
